three weddings, a screening and a funeral, pt 1

in the short span of almost a month's time, it's incredible how some of life's more significant events have taken place. it all started with childhood buddy maikai's wedding wif yilin, another fren i've known for a good number of years. the dinner was on 19/11/06 while the tea ceremony was on 22/11/06.
i've known maikai since std one, 7 years young, in the satu kuning class. mrs lam was our sadistic class teacher who pinches cheeks like there's no tomorrow, something like how wengkeat shows his affection towards kimling. only she added in her trademark smacks. oouch.
i remember after knowing maikai for some weeks, he asked us to call him michael. of course we were calling him cheemun back then. michael? english was as foreign as foreign to me back then, so michael seemed a bit odd to me. so i started calling him maikai instead. at least it's funnier. below are some pix i took during the period of their wedding in ipoh.
